This butter crock was designed to resemble a small woodland mushroom when assembled. The lid forms a rounded red “cap” dotted with white spots, while the base holds the butter beneath. When filled and closed, the lid sits snugly inside the base, creating a natural seal that helps keep butter soft and spreadable at room temperature. This piece was an early exploration of the form and will stay in my own kitchen. But the idea of a functional little mushroom sitting on the counter felt too charming not to try.

Our pottery is dishwasher and microwave safe unless noted otherwise. However gentle handwashing is recommended to preserve the glaze and extend the life of your handcrafted piece, especially for items with transfers or hand-painted details. Microwave safe, just avoid temperature shock by heating and cooling slowly and evenly and never heat empty.
